A rye Manhattan whose vermouth is split: fifteen sweet, fifteen dry, two dashes, cherry — “perfect” means both, not better.

Ingredients

• Rye whiskey — 60 ml
• Sweet vermouth — 15 ml
• Dry vermouth — 15 ml
• Angostura bitters — 2 dash
• Maraschino cherry — 1 piece

Preparation

1. Add rye, sweet vermouth, dry vermouth and Angostura to a mixing glass with ice.
2. Stir until well chilled.
3. Strain into a chilled coupe.
4. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
