Complex, effervescent and golden-age elegant, this split-base fizz shakes rum and whiskey with lemon before topping with soda for a regal long drink.

Ingredients

• Light rum — 1/2 oz
• Blended whiskey — 1 1/2 oz
• Lemon — 22 ml
• Powdered sugar — 1 tsp
• Carbonated water — 2 oz

Preparation

1. Add light rum, blended whiskey, lemon, and powdered sugar to a shaker filled with ice.
2. Shake vigorously until well chilled.
3. Strain into a highball glass over ice.
4. Top with carbonated water.
5. Stir gently.
6. Serve immediately.
